Privacy Policy

FareeWay Driver ("the App") is developed by JeissonLabs and licensed to transportation operators ("the Operator"). This Privacy Policy applies to all drivers using the App regardless of which Operator has deployed it. It explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Driver Name
When you first open the App you enter your first name. This is stored locally on your device and sent to our dispatch server solely to identify you in trip assignments and status updates.
Location Data
The App requests access to your device's GPS location while you are on duty. Location is used to:
- Calculate your estimated time of arrival (ETA) to pickup locations
- Display your position on the in-app map
- Send ETA information to the dispatcher when you begin a trip
Location data is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of an active trip update.
Device Push Token
A unique device token is registered with our notification server (via Twilio) to deliver incoming trip assignments to your device. This token is not shared with third parties for advertising.
Trip History
Completed trips are stored locally on your device only. This data is never uploaded to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To assign and dispatch trips from the operator to your device
- To send real-time status updates (en route, arrived, on board) to the dispatcher
- To calculate ETAs using Apple MapKit on your device
- To send SMS notifications to clients about driver status (see Section 4)
- To notify you of new trip assignments via push notification
3. Data Storage & Retention
Your driver name and on-duty preference are stored in your device's local storage (UserDefaults). Trip history is stored locally and is deleted when you clear it manually within the App. We do not maintain a cloud database of driver profiles or trip records.
4. SMS & Messaging to Clients
When a trip is in progress, the App may send automated SMS notifications to the passenger (client) using Twilio, a third-party communications platform. These messages may include:
- "Your driver is on the way. ETA ~X minutes."
- "Your driver has arrived and is waiting."
- "Thank you for riding with FareeWay."
Client phone numbers are provided by the dispatcher as part of the trip assignment and are used solely to send trip-related notifications. They are not stored, sold, or used for marketing purposes. Mobile numbers are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Message Frequency: Passengers typically receive 3–5 SMS messages per trip (opt-in confirmation, driver en route, driver arrival, on board, and trip completion). Message frequency may vary depending on trip activity.
Message & Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple MapKit — used for on-device maps and route calculation. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Twilio — used for push notifications and SMS delivery.
We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is shared only with our own dispatch server and with Twilio for the purposes described above.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by professional drivers aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 9). You can clear all local trip history directly within the App under the History tab.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
